Prayer Power
Citizenship in God’s kingdom has privileges and protections. For example, John writes: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,” (John 1:12, NASB). By the way, remember that belief also involves obedience. Prayer is one such concept. It is both a right and a responsibility.
We are indeed gifted with true riches by God’s grace. Among those is our ability to communicate with God through prayer. Prayer is essential to help us overcome barriers to spiritual growth. If we learn to pray as Jesus and Paul taught us, our spiritual growth will soar. There truly would be no end to our growth. We should see a positive cycle of growth through our prayer. The more we pray and see the results, the closer we grow to God. Praying should become automatic and a natural activity, just like breathing. We don’t think about it; we just do it. Just as we need air for physical life, prayer provides oxygen for spiritual life.
