The Role of Faith

There is perhaps no other biblical concept more important and perhaps more misunderstood than the concept of faith. It is critical that we properly understand this vital concept. Faith serves as the foundation upon which all of our spiritual growth and relationship with God is built. It is something we must understand clearly. With faith, our growth is unlimited. “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him,” (Hebrews 11:6, NASB).

Faith may not fix all the problems we face in our lives, but it does fix our biggest problem: how to overcome separation from God because of our sin. Jesus promised us, “‘He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned,’” (Mark 16:16, NASB).
