Heroes of Faith: Josiah

God delights in fellowship with His children. He longs for men to live with Him in a relationship of complete trust and commitment. Faith is the heart of our commitment to God. In faith, we know who God is and what He desires from us. Faith develops trust in the ability and willingness of God to move in the lives of men. Faith calls for man to move in the purpose of God. Responsiveness is the mark of a faith that is sensitive to the will of God. The life of Josiah teaches us how to respond to the will and word of God.

God uses Josiah’s responsiveness to call a nation back into His presence. The way Josiah’s heart responds to the holiness and the word of the Lord becomes a model for the way every person should answer the insistent invitation of God. As we read our Bibles, it challenges us to be responsive to God through our actions and allow the Lord’s Word to guide and shape our steps. As we commit to following God, we need hearts that are responsive to His voice, attentive to His love, and impacted by His grace.
