Heroes of Faith: Daniel

The world often calls us to conflicting standards. Influence, power, wealth, education, or anything else that seems like it may give us an edge over the people around us becomes the path to walk in order to succeed. The shifting sand of the world’s standards robs us of security and damages our relationships. God desires something different for His people. God knows that we need stability in life, and so He sets the standard for living. It is not an ever-changing standard. Christians know that God’s standard is based on His nature and character. In order to grow faith, we need to hold fast to God’s unfailing standard. The ability to trust and consistently live in one standard is called integrity. Daniel is a great picture of integrity.

Integrity calls for us to move in the will of God. Integrity transforms our lives to look like Jesus. As we walk with God, we are made into the likeness of Christ. We take on His nature and character. Integrity is not about making things easy in this life. Integrity is about holding on to what is most important, no matter what may happen or who might not like it. Faith grows deeply in the soil of integrity because integrity allows us to move in the will of God and shine with the light of Jesus.
