How confident are we in the Word of God? Are we willing to hold to God’s teaching even when it’s not popular? Do we feel like the Word of God holds the answers to the problems we face as a society, a nation, or even a church? Most believers would answer yes, but that begs the question: Why are we not applying His Word to solve our problems? Furman Kearley, former instructor at Magnolia Bible College once said, “There is presently a state of biblical illiteracy in our world, country, churches, and homes. We not only do not know where to find the answers; we often don’t even have a clue that such principles are there. ”In such a time when God’s Word is being questioned and ignored, His followers must be anchored. Although the wickedness of society is discouraging, we should pray and remain confident in our faith. We might never inspire national repentance or initiate a religious movement, but each of us can do something for someone. The key is to be anchored in the Word of God. As Christians, we should be the most steadfast people in the world–not steadfast in our own abilities–but steadfast in the truth and power of God.
